Infected earlier, Ashwath Narayan dons PPE while visiting Covid patients at KC General Hospital

BENGALURU:

Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan combined his administrative duties with personal precaution when he wore a PPE kit on Sunday while visiting a Covid-19 ward in KC General Hospital. His ‘unusual’ appearance was understandable, given that he had himself tested positive for Covid-19 in September last year.

Furthermore, it is mandatory for doctors and anyone else to wear a PPE kit whenever they are visiting Covid-infected patients.

The DCM had got himself tested ahead of the monsoon session of the state legislature that started on September 21 last year. It was mandatory for legislators to get tested for Covid-19, and only those who tested negative were allowed to attend the session. After testing positive, Dr Narayan skipped the session for a few days till a re-test came negative for the virus.

During his Sunday visit to KC General Hospital, Dr Narayan was accompanied by Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan. The DCM checked the treatment being provided to Covid patients. He also inspected the newly installed modular Covid ICU units in the hospital premises.
