E-tailer ties up with Karnataka Mango Board, postmen will deliver to doorstep  Â

Now, you can have the ‘king of fruits’ delivered at your doorstep, thanks to a tie-up between Flipkart and the Karnataka Mango Board.
Under an MoU between the board and Flipkart on Tuesday, the latter will provide its marketplace platform to the Mango Board’s Farmer Producer Organisations.
A Flipkart release said the company would provide training on how to use its app and other user interfaces, and the postal department would be the last-mile delivery partner.
“This partnership brings out the true potential of e-commerce and we are glad to play a key role in helping increase farmers’ income,” Flipkart Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Rajneesh Kumar said.
3-kg order
onsumers can place orders on Flipkart’s platform for several varieties of mangoes, including Alphonso, Badami, Apoos, Banganpalli, Kesar, Neelam, Himam Pasand, Sendur and Mallika, in batches of 3 kg.The facility will be available across the districts of Bengaluru Urban, Kolar, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi.
The State Mango Board acts as a nodal agency for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), thereby creating a viable market for their produce, Secretary to Horticulture Department and Board chairman Rajendra Kataria said.
