Sunday, June 21 is International Yoga Day and, Covid or no Covid, you cannot stop any full-time politico from exploiting a readymade photo op!
Several veteran Karnataka politicians have taken time off from their ‘usual’ activities and shared pictures of themselves performing yoga.
BJP state president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and BJP organising secretary Arun Kumar were seen performing yoga at the party office in Malleswaram, while the BJP’s Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya attended a yoga event at Rashtrotthan Parishad.
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, all of 87 and back in the Rajya Sabha, was seen doing yoga at his residence. The former PM does yoga for an hour daily at home with the help of a yoga teacher.
Governor Vajubhai Vala performed yoga at his official residence at Raj Bhavan.
The members of the erstwhile royal family gathered at 6 am for a session, sending out a message about the importance of yoga in maintaining one’s physical and mental health.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also posted on his twitter profile peforming yoga. He tweeted: “On this #InternationalYogaDay, start & continue practicing Yoga for healthy life and sound mind.”
