The extended line will be inaugurated on Sunday, August 29 at 12 noon. BMRCL MD Anjum Parwez said Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Chief Minister BS Bommai will inaugurate the Reach-2 extension of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-2.

Safety nod

The Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety had inspected the 7 km-long Reach-2 extension line with 6 stations from Mysuru Road station to Kengeri Metro station and had given the nod for the passenger service, Parwez said in his letter to the Union Minister’s office.

Parwez said the Chief Minister had written a letter on August 19 to the Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, Petroleum & Natural Gas requesting a date for the inauguration of the line.

“As advised by the office of Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, Petroleum & Natural Gas, the Chief Minister of Karnataka has agreed to the inauguration on August 29 at 12 noon,” Parwez said.
