Mother and Child Electrocuted in Bengaluru| BESCOM suspends five officials

Taking serious note on non-departmental fatal electrical accident occurred on Sunday morning at Kadugodi sub-division in which mother and daughter died at spot, the BESCOM has suspended five of its officials for dereliction of duties on prima-faci enquiry and issued show cause notice to two senior officers.

In a non-department fatal electrical accident, Soundraya (23) and her daughter Leela has came in contact with live 11KV wire fallen on foot path of Hope Farm Signal and got electrocuted on Sunday morning around 5.30 AM.

Energy Minister K.J. George has taken serious note on this electrical accident and ordered for suspension of officials. Following the directions of Energy minister, the General Manager of Admin and Human Resources of BESCOM has suspended, Assistant Executive Engineer of E-4 Sub-Division, Subramanya T, Assistant Engineer of E-4 Sub-Division, Chetan S. Junior Engineer of E-4 Su-Division Rajanna, junior powerman Manjunath Revanna and Lineman Basavaraju for dereliction of duties and detailed investigation will be conducted in the matter.

BESCOM has also issued show-cause notice to Superintended Engineer of East Circle, Lokesh Babu and Executive Engineer of Whitefield division Sriramu, asked them to reply the notice within three days.

The incident: F-9 of BPL feeder of Kadugodi was tripped at 3.50 AM and same has been charged at 3.55 AM. Victims have came in contact with 11KV snapped conductor it fall on footpath near Hope Farm Signal and got electrocuted. Whitefield police have registered the case.

Energy minister has taken this incident very seriously and cautioned all Engineers of ESCOMs not to allow such incidents to happen in future.
