BENGALURU:
Apart from burning and looting Congress MLA Srinivas Murthy’s house in Kaval Byrasandra on Tuesday night, the mob belonging to a particular community also attacked the house of his nephew Naveen in KG Halli. Five members of Naveen’s family had to flee the house to save their lives.
Naveen’s sister-in-law said their house was attacked by armed rioters who looted Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 10 lakh worth of jewellery. She said the mob took away documents and set fire to the house.
The riots have been blamed on a ‘controversial’ Facebook post by Naveen, who has said his account was hacked. He has currently been detained by the police.
