Minister Krishna Byre Gowda Honours GBA Officials Assaulted During Shivajinagar Footpath Encroachment Drive
Bengaluru: Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Friday honoured Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) officials who continued with their duty despite being assaulted by miscreants during a recent footpath encroachment clearance drive in Shivajinagar.
The officials were felicitated at the minister’s office in Vikas Soudha in recognition of their commitment to public service while carrying out the encroachment removal operation.
Those honoured were Executive Engineer Atif, Assistant Executive Engineers Madhav Rao and Savitri, Assistant Engineer Ruchita, Engineer Gowtham and the owner of the JCB used during the operation.
Additional Chief Secretary Tushar Giri Nath, Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, Central City Municipal Commissioner Jagadeesh and GBA Corporations Officers and Employees Welfare Association President A. Amruth Raj were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Byre Gowda said that regardless of the number of welfare programmes introduced by the government, dedicated officials are the foundation for delivering them to the people. He commended the GBA personnel for carrying out the Shivajinagar footpath encroachment clearance despite threats and attacks from anti-social elements, and said officers with such commitment are the real strength of the department and the government.
