How often do you hear of a neta rolling up his sleeves and getting his hands dirty doing something essential? Education Minister S Suresh Kumar was the role model of the day, sweeping the street next to his house after the poura karmika (PK) didn’t on Friday.
The PK lady who used to sweep the street hadn’t come as she had injured her leg. The minister and his wife then took it on themselves to clean up the road.
Suresh Kumar said on his Facebook page, “This morning, when my wife and I swept the next half-street of our house, reducing the walking, it benefited us both in exercise and pleasure. Can we all do this often? Cleanliness is not just a programme but also work and responsibility.”
