BENGALURU: The Cottonpet police detained a man after he attacked a Hoysala patrol squad when they had gone to resolve a domestic dispute on Wednesday night.
The accused Stephen and his wife got into a major quarrel and the woman dialled the police emergency number. When the Hoysala squad of Somashekar and Ramu arrived at the scene, they allegedly abused the couple and others who had gathered there in foul language.
Angered by this, Stephen allegedly attacked the policemen following which they thrashed him. The policemen then took him to the police station. However, his family members gathered at the police station and vented their anger, claiming that the policemen had abused women too instead of helping resolve the dispute.
