Major IAS Reshuffle in Karnataka: Government Transfers Senior Bureaucrats, Assigns Key New Responsibilities

Bengaluru, June 18: The Karnataka Government on Thursday issued a major transfer and posting notification involving several senior IAS officers, reassigning key administrative responsibilities across departments ranging from urban development and transport to health, education and rural development. The changes were notified by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).

Among the significant changes, Major Manivannan P. IAS, Commissioner of the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA), has been given the concurrent charge of Commissioner, Directorate of Urban Land Transport, Bengaluru, filling an existing vacancy.

Changes at Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi

Smt. Imkongla Jamir M. IAS, Resident Commissioner of Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, has been transferred and posted as Secretary (Coordination), Karnataka Bhavan, relieving Sameer Shukla of the additional charge.

In another important posting, Sameer Shukla IAS, who was serving as Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been appointed as the new Resident Commissioner, Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi.

Backward Classes Welfare and Higher Education Departments Get New Secretaries

Dr. Prasad N.V. IAS, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Secretary to Government, Backward Classes Welfare Department, replacing Smt. Thulasi Maddineni IAS.

Meanwhile, Thulasi Maddineni IAS has been transferred and posted as Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, relieving Khushboo G. Chowdhary of the concurrent charge.

Rural Development Department Reorganized

Randeep D. IAS, earlier serving as Secretary (Panchayat Raj), has been posted as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. He will also continue to hold concurrent charge of the Panchayat Raj portfolio.

BMTC and KSRTC See Leadership Changes

A major change has been made in Karnataka’s public transport sector.

Sivakumar K.B. IAS, Managing Director of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), has been transferred and appointed as Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

Replacing him at BMTC will be Raghunandan Murthy IAS, who has been transferred from the post of Commissioner of Treasuries. He will also continue to hold additional charge as Commissioner of Treasuries until further orders.

Tourism, Agriculture and Health Departments Get New Officers

Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar V. IAS, Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), has been given concurrent charge as Commissioner of Tourism.

Dr. Sateesha B.C. IAS, Director of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Agriculture Department.

Akram Pasha IAS, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Mission Director, National Health Mission and Directorate of Health, Bengaluru.

Greater Bengaluru Authority Gets New Special Commissioner

Nitish K. IAS, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Director of Municipal Administration. In addition, he has been entrusted with concurrent charge as Special Commissioner (Health and Education), Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).

The appointment is significant as the newly formed Greater Bengaluru Authority continues to assume greater administrative responsibilities in the city.

MSME Department and District Administration Changes

Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar IAS, Joint Managing Director of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board, has been transferred and posted as Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce and Industries Department.

Meanwhile, Gajanan Bale IAS, General Manager (Resettlement, Rehabilitation and Land Acquisition), Upper Krishna Project, Bagalkot, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Bagalkot. He will continue to hold concurrent charge of his previous post until further orders.
