The department’s lockdown-related losses are currently Rs 2,200 crore and are likely to reach Rs 3,000 crore, the minister said.

No bus fare hike

There will be no hike in bus fares. Only 30 passengers will be allowed per bus, and masks, sanitizers and health checks are mandatory. The minister said a letter had been written to all states except Maharashtra on resumption of interstate buses.

The government has spent Rs 650 crore on disbursing 2 months’ salary to employees. While no staffer would be retrenched, no casual leave would be permitted, the minister said. He added that the biometric system would be implemented again for the approval of leave.
