KPSC Aspirants Forced to Remove Mangalsutra and Toe-Rings to Prevent Malpractice in Kalaburagi

Date:

KALABURAGI:

In an unfortunate incident, aspiring candidates appearing for KPSC exams were compelled to remove their mangalsutra and toe-rings at an examination center in Kalaburagi on Sunday. This measure was taken to curb any potential malpractice.

However, after the news was aired by several Kannada News Channels, senior officials promptly intervened and instructed the staff not to enforce the removal of mangalsutra and toe-rings.

The KPSC exam took place at the Government Pre-University College for Girls in Kalaburagi. The officials at the examination center insisted that female candidates remove their mangalsutra, toe-rings, earrings, and other metal items to ensure the integrity of the examination conducted for the Group C post.

Married women who were hesitant to remove their mangalsutra were denied permission by the authorities at the examination center. Additionally, one woman had to seek the assistance of a goldsmith to remove her earring as it was stuck.

Two women from Raichur were thoroughly checked by the examination center officials and were asked to remove their mangalsutra and toe-rings. Left with no choice, the women reluctantly took them off and handed them over to their relatives before being allowed inside the examination hall.
