Karnataka reports record spike of 10,070 cases in single day

With the detection of highest single day spike of 10,070 cases on Thursday, the total tally in the state has surged to 6,11,837.
According to official sources, the death toll also mounted to 8994 after 130 more patients succumbed to the virus here. The Bengaluru Urban district had recorded a highest 4853 cases on Thursday followed by Bagalkote 336, Ballari 486, Belagai 115, Bengaluru Rural 169, Bidar 64, Chamarajanagara 116,Chikkaballapura 44, Chikkamagaluru 184, Chitradurga 82, Dakshina Kannada 493, Davanagere 148, Dharwada 153, Gadag 146, Hassana 383, Haveri 155, Kalaburagi 219, Kodagu 58, Kolara 53, Koppala 103, Mandya 266, Mysuru 101, Raichuru 79, Ramanagara 74, Shivamogga 138, Tumakuru 274, Udupi 275, Uttara Kannada 87, Vijayapura 257 and Yadagiri 159.

In the last 24-hours as many as 96588 persons, had undergone COVID-19 testing including that of 46960 of the Rapid Antigen Detection Test.
The sources also said that in the last 24-hours as many as 7144 COVID-19 patients, got discharged from various hospitals after completely cured from the disease, taking the total number of persons cured to 492412 so far in the state. (Agency)
