The High Court has given a green signal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s road show in Bengaluru on Sunday and the Karnataka High Court has dismissed a public interest petition stating that the road show will cause inconvenience to the public.
A PIL was filed in the High Court saying that the road show will cause inconvenience to the public. Justice who heard the application. A bench comprising Krishna Dixit and Justice Vijay Kumar opined that the election is being celebrated in a festive manner. In the background of NEET exam, permission has been given for the road show on Sunday morning from 9 am to 11.30 am.
Advocate NP Amritesh has filed this interest petition and the petition filed by Justices Krishna S. Dixit and Vijayakumar A. The hearing came before the division bench headed by Patil at 2:30 pm. The petition requested that the state government, Director General of Police and Commissioner of Police Bangalore should be directed to submit documents related to the permission given by the state BJP to conduct the road show and the measures taken to control the traffic.
The road show will pass through 18 major assembly constituencies of Bengaluru, which have many commercial and residential areas. BJP MP PC Mohan said that more than 10 lakh party workers will participate in the road show. This will cause heavy traffic and people will not be able to move around. It is explained that the political parties will not compensate for the resulting losses.
