According to the draft voter list, there has been an increase in the number of women voters in 115 out of the 224 constituencies in the state. Among these, the Mangalore South Constituency stands out with the highest gender ratio, boasting 1,092 female voters. On the other hand, the Mahadevpur Constituency has the lowest number of women voters, with a mere 859 in total. It is worth noting that the draft voter list reveals a lower count of women voters in 86 constituencies.
In reference to the recent incident of fake identity card detection in Hebbal, Manoj Kumar Meena emphasized that only individuals whose names are listed in the voter registry are eligible to vote. It is important to note that those possessing counterfeit voter IDs will not have their names included in the voter list. Consequently, the use of fake voter ID cards serves no purpose. To exercise their voting rights, individuals must ensure their names are added to the voter list. In response to this issue, the police are actively investigating and dismantling the network responsible for producing fake voter IDs. Meena further assured that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation report is received.
The State Election Commission has announced that the general public can now verify the accuracy of their personal details, including names, addresses, and other relevant information, in the recently published draft voter list. This can be done by visiting the official website at http://ceo.karnataka.gov.in/en. Additionally, individuals can also confirm if their names have been inadvertently omitted from the list. In case of any discrepancies, an appeal can be filed accordingly.
It is worth noting that the Commission is fully equipped and ready to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
