Mysuru district with 10% Covid positivity rate to continue with restrictions

Daily night curfew (7 pm to 5 am) and weekend curfew (Friday 7 pm to Monday 5 am) to continue across Karnataka

BENGALURU:

Providing more relaxations to various businesses and activities from June 21, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has, among other things, allowed state bus transport services and the Metro rail to operate with 50% capacity in 16 districts, including Bengaluru Urban, while also allowing all shops to be open till 5 pm in these districts. The rationale for the decision is that these 16 districts have reported a Covid-19 positivity rate of less than 5% in the last week.

However, the status quo in terms of existing restrictions remains in Mysuru district, which has a positivity rate of more than 10%, the CM announced on Saturday. Yediyurappa noted that while the positivity rate has been less than 5 % in 16 districts during the last one week, it has been 5-10% in 13 districts and around 10% in Mysuru district.
