Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday assured that the state government is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safe return of Kannadigas stranded in conflict-hit regions abroad.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said his government is in constant contact with those affected and is closely monitoring developments on the ground. “I have spoken directly with Kannadigas in the war-affected areas. I also had a conversation with Congress leader Nataraj Gowda,” he said.
Although airports in the affected region are currently closed, the Chief Minister said those stranded are safe and being taken care of. “The airport is expected to reopen tomorrow or the day after. Once that happens, we will expedite their return,” he added.
The state is actively coordinating with central government agencies to facilitate the evacuation. Siddaramaiah said officials are on standby to manage the logistics and ensure a smooth and urgent repatriation process.
He also extended reassurance to families in Karnataka, stating that the administration is committed to bringing their loved ones back safely at the earliest opportunity.
