Karnataka bans filming in Vidhana Soudha’s corridors

BENGALURU:

The state government on Friday banned media persons from filming or photographing in the corridors of Vidhana Soudha.

The ban order was issued after it was given nod by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.

The Department of Personnel Administration Reforms (Executive) has issued a circular to the offices of all ministers and concerned staff of assembly and legislature stating that the ban was imposed after several photographers and video journalists were found filming which was obstructing VVIP movement.

The circular also reads that the provision has been made for the chief minister and other ministers to issue media statements near the Kengal Hanumanthaiah entrance,

Further, personal secretaries of ministers have also been directed to make arrangements for news
conferences and bytes for mediapersons in meeting rooms or ministerial chambers.
