Karnataka appoints in-charge for supply of oxygen and Remdesivir

Dr Avinash Menon Rajendran’s new role is in addition to Commercial Taxes post

BENGALURU:

Amid the shortage of oxygen and Remdesivir in Karnataka, the state government has appointed 2013 batch IAS officer Dr Avinash Menon Rajendran as Nodal Officer in-charge of the war room for supply of oxygen and Remdesivir.

Rajendrans’ appointment is with immediate effect, and is in addition to his primary charge as Additional Commissioner for Commercial Taxes (Service Analysis Wing), Bengaluru.

The state government has also appointed Nishchith VD, State Accounts and Audit Department, to assist the Nodal Officer for supply of oxygen and Remdesivir, in addition to his primary charge as Chief Accountant, Karnataka State Highway Development Project, Project Implementation Unit, Bangalore, K-Ship.

The state government has withdrawn the appointment of IAS officer Venkat Raja as Nodal Officer in-charge of the war room for supply of oxygen and Remdesivir.
