In the aftermath of the Covid-19 death reported from Kalaburagi, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the district.
Making the announcement during the assembly session on Friday, the chief minister said he had reviewed the situation and preparedness taken by the administration and ordered the district authorities to declare holidays for all educational institutions in Kalaburagi.
“I have great concern over the pandemic,” Yediyurappa said. He added, “Our officers have obtained all information related to the deceased’s travel history. All the details of co-passengers have been collected and all possible steps are being taken.”
He said that the state government would decide on Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy’s proposal to set up a fully equipped ‘Covid-9 hospital’.
