Bengaluru: K-RIDE said overhead electrical work is progressing at Heelalige, Maranayakanahalli and Karmelaram as part of the Baiyappanahalli–Hosur railway doubling project. The agency also reported a separate electrical milestone for suburban rail Corridor 2 at Yeshwanthapur.
At Heelalige, on the 48-km doubling route, and at Maranayakanahalli, crews are transferring loads on overhead equipment and checking rail turnouts using a tower car. K-RIDE reported a power block at both locations and a line block at Heelalige.
At Karmelaram, K-RIDE said crews are installing extension supports and transferring overhead electrical loads under power and line blocks. At Yeshwanthapur, the installation of essential and non-essential electrical panels is complete under package C2B, as part of the utility shifting work for Corridor 2. The agency did not give a completion date for the wider work.
