MLA Priyank Kharge says local area will be sealed

In a shocking development, a 2-year-old infant has tested Covid-19 positive in Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district.
Former minister and Chittapur MLA Priyank Kharge posted the development on Twitter and Facebook. However, the state health department is yet to ascertain the case as nobody in the family of the boy has any kind of travel history.
Kharge posted a video in which he is seen holding meetings with officials and giving directions for adopting preventive measures.
His FB post read: “A 2-year-old child has been diagnosed with coronavirus in Pilakamma area of Wadi town of Chittapur taluk. I have spoken to taluk authorities and the municipality, and advised them to take precautions against infection. There is no need for the public to panic.”
“This area is going to be completely sealed and the people there will be tested.
“I have personally spoken with all councilors and local leaders and requested their cooperation to implement a complete lockdown. Arrangements will be made to get the necessary items locally or at the doorstep.
“I urge all citizens to strictly adhere to sealed-down rules for their own safety.”
