BENGALURU:
Karnataka government has decided to reopen the Indira canteens from Sunday. It has notified a specific time frame of the functioning of the canteen with free of cost service.
According to the new timings Indira Canteen will serve morning breakfast from 7 Am to 10 Am, afternoon lunch from 12.30 pm to 3 Pm and dinner from7.30 Pm to 9 Pm.
“Intention is to feed poor, labourers, street vendors, homeless people and those who cannot afford food will get benefit of the reopening of Indira canteen,” said an official.
Health and Family Welfare Department commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey informed this in a tweet.
“The government has mandated the person serving food must wear mask and gloves and sanitizers should be made available in the canteen.”
“While collecting the food coupons social distancing of 1 meter should be maintained and person should also cover their nose and mouth with a fresh cloth or a mask. They should be knowing about the precautions to be taken for COVID19 outbreak,” officer added
The 19 canteens which will function are located in BBMP wards- Radhakrisna temple, Shivajinagar, Kamanahalli, Konena Agrahara, Vanarpete, Dattatreya temple, Nandini layout, Hanumanthnagar, Dharmarayaswamy temple, Deepanjalinagar, K R Puram, Doddanekundi, Bagalagunte, Ullalu, J P Park, Kuvempunagar, Attur, Gottigere and Bomanahalli.
