To get HSRP or High-Security Registration Plates in Karnataka visit Karnataka Transport Department website https://transport.karnataka.gov.in or www.siam.in. There click on Book HSRP. Select the manufacturer company of your vehicle there. Then fill the basic vehicle details as asked. After that you have to select the dealer location according to your convenience. For fixing HSRP the dealer location has to be selected. Fees for HSRP should be paid online. No cash payment required.
After doing this, an OTP will be sent to the vehicle owner’s mobile number. Owners can choose the date and time to affix the number plate to the vehicle at their convenience. The vehicle owner can then go to their vehicle manufacturer/dealer on an agreed date and time to get the HSRP number plates fitted to the vehicle. Some dealers may provide this service at the vehicle owner’s doorstep.
There is a lot of confusion among the public about HSRP. As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) order, vehicles must be fitted with HSRP number plates. The central government wants to solve many problems through this measure. He said the main reason for introducing HSRP was to prevent fake registration numbers used by criminals for illegal activities and to track vehicles for traffic violations.
The state government had issued orders on August 17, 2023, but so far only about 20,000 people have come forward and made the change. November 17 is the last day for plate installation for older vehicles. This rule will be applicable to all old vehicles including two-wheeler, three-wheeler, light motor vehicle, medium and heavy commercial vehicle, tractor, passenger car registered before April 2019.

What is HSRP?
HSRP is a vehicle registration number plate, a number plate made of aluminum metal. Has two unused locks. There is a chromium hologram on the top left of the front and rear number plates, which has an image of the Ashoka Chakra. It is attached by hot stamping in size 20 mm x 20 mm.
