Consumer has to pay Rs 10 service charge

After Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya’s home delivery scheme became a hit in his constituency, BBMP has decided to expand it to the entire city.
A dedicated toll-free number 08061914960 has been created. One can send a WhatsApp message or call the number to place an order. Once an order is placed for any amount, the consumer has to pay Rs 10 as delivery charges.Â
The service will officially begin on Wednesday. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Tuesday released the toll-free number.
Speaking to thebengalurulive, Mayor M Gautam Kumar said BBMP has tied up with 11,000 shops and other establishments like chicken and mutton centres, who have tied up with 5,000 delivery persons.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa praised the initiative of Tejasvi Surya, which is being replicated across the city by BBMP.Â
Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, Revenue Minister R Ashoka, deputy Mayor Ram Mohan Raju and BJP floor leader KV Muneendra Kumar were present at the launch of the toll-free number.
