754 grams of the drug concealed in folder couriered from Dubai; importer arrested
BENGALURU:
Based on specific intelligence, officers of the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), Bengaluru Airport, and the Air Cargo Commissionerate intercepted a courier shipment from Dubai on Saturday.
Examination of the shipment, which was declared as ‘Documents and Bag’, revealed a powdery substance concealed in a folder. The substance was identified as heroin as per the preliminary report from the trace detector.
Around 754 grams of concealed heroin, whose street price is about Rs 5.3 crore, was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

The importer of the contraband consignment was arrested with the help of officers of the Bengaluru City Customs (Preventive) and was produced before a city magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody.
