Heavy Downpour, Thunderstorm and Thunderbolt in Bengaluru
BENGALURU:
Overnight Bengaluru city has witnessed heavy downpour with thunderstorm all over the city. Main streets where reported flooding.
The month of April is the hottest of the year, dominated by dry days interspersed by Pre- Monsoon showers on 5-7 days.
The city has been experiencing dry weather for almost 2 weeks. Prior to that, the city observed heavy showers on April 6 and April 9. It has already recorded 63mm of rainfall against a monthly normal of 41.8mm.
The Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control room has not received a single complaint overnight while on Friday morning one complaint was received from Sahakara Nagar in Yelahanka near Motherhood hospital. Water stagnated was reported. Sources said that the BBMP control room staff has alerted Yelahanka zone officers and where directed to rush to the spot.
Power cuts were reported from many areas in Bengaluru City.
