BAGALKOT: A joyous occasion suddenly turned into despair when a groom died after suffering a heart attack just after tying the mangalasutra to the bride, at Jamakhandi on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Praveen Kurne.
The wedding ceremony of Praveen and Pooja was organised at the Nandikeshwara Kalyana Mantap in Jamakhandi on Saturday. Soon after, tying the mangalasutra, Praveen collapsed and died on the stage.
Praveen was a resident of Kumbarahall village in Jamakhandi taluk. Celebration suddenly turned into sorrow for the family and a pall of gloom enveloped the entire village.
