Govt to regularise ‘B Kharab’ land in Bengaluru

Owners will have to pay 4 times market value for regularisaition 

BENGALURU: 

Those who have built properties on ‘B Kharab’ land in and around Bengaluru in an 18-km radius will be charged four times the market value of the land for regularisation.   

Law Minister JC Madhuswamy told reporters on Tuesday that the cabinet had decided to amend Sections 64 (2) and 69 of the Land Revenue Act for the purpose.  This would come as a relief to many ‘B Kharab’ land layouts and buildings that face legal issues. However, this change will not apply to Bengaluru Rural district. 

Nod for mining in Donimalai  

The Centre-owned NMDC has approved iron ore mining in Donimalai of Bellary district. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Union Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi a few days ago, Madhuswamy said. 

The Central government has agreed to increase royalty from iron ore sales from 15 per cent to 22.5 per cent. This would give the state government an annual income of Rs 647 crore. Mining was stopped in the area in 2018.  

Water from Agara lake to Anekal 

The pipeline from Agara lake in Bengaluru to Anekal will carry 50 mld of water. 

Funds for medical purchase 

The National Health Mission has agreed to release Rs 25.73 crore for the purchase of medical equipment and Rs 24.90 crore for the purchase of medicine by 2021.
