Yediyurappa ‘anguished’ at the suicide of infected KSRP constable

BENGALURU:

Expressing grief over the suicide of an infected KSRP constable, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa assured patients that the government would do all it could to be of assistance and moral support.

Manjesh, attached to the KSRP’s 4th Battalion, had hanged himself in a bus taking him to a hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, the CM tweeted: The overall death toll from Covid infection in the state is very low compared to other major states. There is no need for any infected citizens and government personnel to be worried or pay attention to it. The government will always be with you.”

He added: “Police personnel are risking their life as warriors at the forefront of Covid-related work. We are opening a separate Covid test centre for them. All measures are being taken to provide the best treatment for the infected.”
