Gopalaiah gets Excise, MTB gets Municipal Administration
CM uses portfolio sweeteners to keep his cabinet aides happy
BENGALURU:
Within a span of two days, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has once again reallocated portfolios among his ‘unhappy’ cabinet colleagues on Friday.
After MTB Nagaraj turned down the excise portfolio, the CM allotted it instead to Mahalakshmi Layout MLA K Gopalaiah.
JC Madhuswamy will continue to hold the newly allotted Medical Education portfolio along with the additional responsibility of the Haj and Wakf Department.
Aravind Limbavali will continue with the Forest Department while his additional portfolio witll be Kannada and Culture.
MTB Nagaraj gets the Municipal Administration Department along with Sugarcane Development and Directorate of Sugar from the Industries and Commerce Department.
R Shankar is now in charge of the Horticulture and Sericulture Departments while KC Narayana Gowda will hold the Youth Empowerment and Sports portfolio along with the Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics Department.
