BENGALURU:
Taking a potshot at the Congress party, which is facing a new wave of dissent over its leadership, Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan of the ruling BJP said it would be ‘good’ if the party is dissolved.
Speaking to the media on Monday, he quoted Mahatma Gandhi as saying the Congress should be dissolved after Independence. He said it was ‘good’ that dissent had surfaced in the Congress party.
Meanwhile, the state Congress party is solidly behind the Gandhi family. Former CM Siddaramaiah feels Rahul Gandhi is an effective leader, while KPCC president DK Shivakumar believes that it is only through the Gandhi family that the Congress can remain united.
