BENGALURU:
The city police have arrested members of a gang for attacking policemen who thwarted their robbery plans. Laxmikant (20), Anand (20) and Rakesh (21) were nabbed while two gang members, Chandrakant and Satish, escaped.
Around 7 am on Tuesday morning, the gang was standing near Hessaraghatta lake armed with knives and machetes. PSI Vasanth Kumar and constable Imam Saab of the Soladevanahalli police station, who were nearby, tried to apprehend them, at which point the gang attacked the cops with their weapons. Fortunately, neither of the cops was injured.
Three of the gang members were arrested, and a case has been registered at the Soladevanahalli police station.
