Vehicles run on CNG & petrol
BENGALURU:
Lending support to the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ in the city, GAIL on Thursday handed over 18 four-wheeled CNG ‘Dry Waste Collection Vehicles’ worth Rs 1 crore to BBMP.
The vehicles were flagged off by BBMP Administror Gaurav and BBMP Commissiiner Manjunatha Prasad, in the presence P Murugesan, Executive Director (Southern Region), GAIL, and Vivek Wathodkar, Chief General Manager, GAIL Gas Ltd.
The vehicles, provided under GAIL’s CSR initiative, run on dual fuel, i.e., compressed natural gas (CNG) and petrol.
GAIL is supplying CNG in Bengaluru for vehicles along with piped natural gas for households and industries. GAIL owns and operates the Dabhol-Bengaluru natural gas pipeline and is presently executing the Kutch-Kottanad-Bengaluru-Mangaluru pipeline project, which is nearing completion.
