Bommai pats BMRCL, says completed Metro will be the ‘lifeline’ of Bengaluru

BENGALURU:

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed BMRCL officials to complete the Metro Phase 2 work a year earlier, by 2024 instead of 2025. He advised speeding up of the work after witnessing the ‘breakthrough’ of tunnel boring machine ‘Urja’ in the Shivajinagar Metro station on Wednesday.

When Phase 2 is completed, 56 km will be added to the network and phase 3 will then be taken up. When all three phases are completed, the Metro will be the lifeline of Bengaluru, Bommai said.
