CCB Nabs 9 Foreign Nationals Living Illegally in Bengaluru After Visa Expiry

A tragic incident unfolded in Karekal, under the jurisdiction of Kamakshipalaya police station, where a father fatally shot his own son. The victim, Nartana Bopanna, a young man of 32, was senselessly murdered by his own father, Suresh. The shocking incident came to light yesterday evening.
Nartana Bopanna, from Kodagu, was working for a private company in Bengaluru and living in Karekallu with his parents. His mother was unwell, and his father, Suresh, was enslaved by alcoholism. Suresh would constantly torment his son, demanding money for his drinking habit. On the evening of July 25th, Suresh resorted to violence to extract money for his drinking spree.
Fed up with the situation, Nartana locked his father in a room and placed a lock on the door. However, even from inside the room, Suresh continued to cause trouble. After a while, enraged Suresh broke the door with a gun he had obtained license.
The bullet fired from the gun hit Nartana, who was sitting on the upper part of the door. In severe pain, Nartana immediately called his sister for help. She instructed their relatives to go to their house. However, when the relatives arrived, they found Nartana unconscious and rushed him to a private hospital in Basaveshwar Nagar. Unfortunately, the treatment was unsuccessful, and Nartana was declared dead.
As the police arrived at the scene, they found evidence of the crime in Suresh’s house, where he had cleaned the bloodstains. Suresh has been arrested and the case has been registered at the Kamakshipalya Police Station for further investigation.
