Former Union Minister complains to Bengaluru cyber police, gets court injunction against uploading/forwarding fake video
BENGALURU:
Even high-profile politicians find themselves at the mercy of cyber fraudsters! Former Union minister, former Karnataka CM and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda had a nasty experience when he came to know of a porn video which has gone viral, and in which his picture is morphed. The former CM has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police, and has also obtained a court injunction restricting people from forwarding the morphed video.
Gowda alleged that the morphed video had been created by his ‘adversaries’ who have a vested interest in maligning his reputation.
‘Vested interests’
He tweeted, “Dear well-wishers, a morphed (deep fake) video of mine has been making the rounds on social media. I would like to inform you that it is not me in the video, it’s created to malign my impeccable image by my adversaries with a vested interest.”
I have also filed a complaint with the cyber crime police. I have faith, the culprits will be nabbed soon. 2/3
