In the aftermath of the catastrophic 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Vanuatu on December 17, 2024, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has intensified its support for the country’s recovery efforts, placing a strong emphasis on occupational safety and health (OSH). The earthquake caused widespread devastation, resulting in 14 fatalities, over 210 injuries, and the displacement of thousands of residents, prompting the government to declare a state of emergency.
