Covid-19 restrictions will take a toll of festivities

The state’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee has announced the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, May 25.
As per Moulana Maqsood lmran Rashadi, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee was chaired by Hazrat Moulana Sagheer Ahmed Khan Rashadl at Darul-Auqaf, Cunningham Road, Bengaluru. The moon was not sighted in Bengaluru or in Chikaballapur, Belagavi, Dharwad, Bidar, Harihar, Chikkamagalur, Balehonnur, Raichur, Gadag, Mysuru and Tumkur.
The same information was received from Delhi, Mewat, Bhopal, Godhra, Mumbai, Allahabad, Chennai, Palanpur, Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow and Hyderabad. Therefore, the Ulernas unanimously decided that the first day of Shawwal will be on May 25.
Eid-ul-Fitr one of the most significant festivals of the global Muslim community, and marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan for the world’s 1.8 billion Muslims.
People usually celebrate by travelling, visiting family and gathering for lavish meals, but in the current pandemic circumstances, these gatherings are largely prohibited.
