As per cops, Murthy urged Naveen to delete controversial post
BENGALURU:
Police investigations have revealed that MLA Akhand Srinivas Murthy, whose house was gutted in last week’s riots, had called his nephew Naveen and told him to leave for a safer place.
A controversial Facebook post by Naveen is alleged to have inflamed minority sentiments, leading to mob arson and vandalism in the DJ Halli and KG Halli areas of Bengaluru east.
On the night of the riots, the MLA had urged Naveen to immediately delete the post and leave the house. He also told him to go to a particular place. The MLA then called the police and informed them of Naveen’s whereabouts.
Contradictory claim
This is in contradiction to the MLA’s statements to the media that he was not in touch with his nephew for the last 10 years. The police had arrested Naveen, and later brought him to the spot for the mahazar.
