Efforts to dismantle scam compounds along Thailand’s border with Myanmar have revealed only limited results, according to a top Thai opposition lawmaker. Despite support from China, the dismantling of these lucrative illegal networks across Southeast Asia has only rescued a small number of the trafficked workers.
