BENGALURU:
Covid cases in the state and Bengaluru continue to rise unabated. In the state capital alone, 2,270 people tested positive on Wednesday. This takes the city’s caseload past the 50,000 mark to reach 51,081.
There were 5,503 new cases reported in the state on Wednesday, and 92 deaths, of which Bengaluru accounted for 30. The state’s caseload is now 1,12,504.
There was some relief on the recovery rate front as 2,397 people were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. A total of 2,147 deaths have been reported in the state so far and there are 67,447 active cases, the health and family welfare department said.
