BENGALURU:
To better combat the spread of Covid-19, the state government has cancelled all kind of holidays, including tomorrow’s second Saturday and the following Sunday, for officials working in the health department.
Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey on Friday issued orders to departmental support staff, directing them to work round-the-clock to curb the spread of the disease.
“Holidays falling on the second Saturday (March 14) and Sunday (March 15) have been cancelled. This apart, all other general holidays are also cancelled until the spread of the corona virus is controlled,” he added.
Pandey further ordered office staff, medical staff, permanent staff and staff working on contract to be present on duty. He also directed all doctors to be present in hospitals.
