Ex-minister sends confidant to Sadashivanagar police station to register complaint
BENGALURU:
The city police on Saturday registered a case based on a complaint by BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, who had to step down as Karnataka Water Resources Minister following ‘sex for job’ allegations linked to a recently telecast ‘sex CD’.
The former minister sent his confidant MV Nagaraj to the Sadashivanagar police station in the afternoon, and the latter handed over a copy of Jarkiholi’s complaint to the police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case of criminal conspiracy, extortion and forgery under various sections of the IPC.
‘Target of extortion’
In the complaint, Jarkiholi has not named anyone but has alleged that ‘some people’ with an intention to extort money resorted to defaming him. He claimed the conspiracy against him was going on for the past three months and the ‘fake CD’ was meant to extort money and finish him politically.
“There are many people involved. Some of them prepared the fake CD and released it to create political instability,” Jarkiholi said in his complaint.
