BENGALURU:
Hundreds of students of Christ (deemed) University protested on Monday against the university’s decision to go ahead with its internal exams. As a mark of protest, the students, who are supported by the National Students Union of India (NSUI), locked the university’s main gate.
One of the students said, “Not a single class was conducted and it is difficult to follow online classes.” The university’s exams began on Monday.
Other students felt the least the university could do was to defer the exams till the Covid-19 situation stabilises.
Following an altercation with police at the venue, some of the students were detained. Later, the university authorities received a memorandum from the agitating students.
