36,000 South Western Railway workers will get bonus amounting to Rs 65 crore
BENGALURU:
The Union cabinet has approved payment of the productivity-linked bonus (PLB) to eligible railway employees ahead of the Dasara/puja holidays. The PLB amount equivalent to 78 days’ wages will be paid to about 11.56 lakh non-gazetted railway employees. The maximum amount payable per eligible railway employee is Rs17,951.
SWR general manager Sanjeev Kishore, addressing the media on Wednesday, said 36,330 non-gazetted employees on the rolls of South Western Railway will benefit from the scheme, and an amount of Rs 65.2 crore will be disbursed among these employees.

This will act as an incentive to motivate railway employees in improving the performance of the railways even during Covid-19 times.
Kishore said the bonus will be paid to categories like track maintainer, driver & amp, guard, station master, supervisos, technician, technician helper, controller, points man, ministerial staff & amp, and other Group C staff.
Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubballi and other senior officers of South Western Railway were present.
