Body in sump triggers Covid panic in apartment

In a suspected case of suicide, a woman was found dead in an apartment sump on Sunday.

The woman has been identified as Gauri (50). She had gone missing on Friday, and her family had lodged a complaint with the police.

More than 60 people live in the apartment, situated in the 4th stage, Yelahanka New Town. The residents are worried as they have been drinking the contaminated water since the past three days.

The body was sent for a post-mortem and a Covid test. A case has been registered at the Yelahanka New Town police station.

Speaking to thebengalurulive, a senior police officer of the Yelahanka New Town police station said, “Till the post-mortem report comes, we cannot say anything. The Covid test result is also awaited.”
