BMRCL Revolutionizes Metro Travel with Contactless QR-Based Ticketing

Date:

BENGALURU: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has recently introduced Self-Service Ticket Machines at Baiyappanahalli Metro Station to provide commuters with a faster and hassle-free way to travel. These machines, equipped with advanced features, aim to make the issuance of QR-based tickets quick and contactless, gradually replacing the traditional single journey tokens.

With a simple two-step process, passengers can now obtain a ticket in less than 30 seconds. First, they select their destination from an intuitive drop-down menu or by using the integrated route map. After confirming the number of passengers and reviewing the fare displayed on the screen, they proceed to make a seamless payment using any UPI-based mobile app. Once payment is successful, a Paper QR Ticket is instantly generated for use at both entry and exit fare gates.

After completing their journey, passengers are encouraged to dispose of the paper ticket in designated waste bins at the station to promote cleanliness and eco-friendly practices.

BMRCL is dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance the travel experience for commuters. The introduction of self-service ticket machines is a testament to our ongoing efforts to make metro travel more efficient, seamless, and aligned with modern payment conveniences. This initiative underscores our commitment to improving passenger comfort and accessibility.

BMRCL remains steadfast in its commitment to adopting smart, sustainable, and commuter-friendly technologies to enhance urban mobility in Bengaluru.
