BENGALURU:
Tejasvi Surya, the Member of Parliament for Bengaluru South, expressed his disappointment over the delay in the recruitment process for a full-time Managing Director (MD) for K-RIDE and appointing an MD for BMRCL. He finds it ironic that the government is considering the construction of a 190 km tunnel road to decongest traffic without a capable MD who can effectively address the city’s traffic congestion issues by implementing the Suburban rail project.
Surya took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to voice his criticism. He believes that the failure to appoint a full-time MD for K-RIDE reflects the government’s lack of action in resolving Bangalore’s traffic problems.

In another display of lack of seriousness & intent to address Bengaluru’s decongestion issue, Congress led Karnataka Govt has failed to speed up the process of appointment of full time MD at K-RIDE.
K-RIDE, tasked with Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project doesn’t have a full-time MD. Though a notification was released to appoint, upon my intervention with Hon. Minister for Railways, it failed to comply with basic eligibility criteria. This displays serious lack of Commitment in improving #BengaluruUrbanMobility.
The govt should make this a priority & re-advertise in accordance with guidelines issued by the Railway Board at the earliest.
BSRP is crucial & can ease mobility challenges in the city and can only be done with an appropriate full-time officer in place.
At this time, both BMRCL and K-RIDE, most important public mobility infrastructure projects of Bengaluru do not have full time MDs, but Govt is planning to build a 190 km tunnel road, Surya emphasized.
