Bengaluru: In Yelahanka, a grand procession was held to commemorate the Jayanti (birth anniversary) of Vinayak Damodar Veer Savarkar, the revolutionary leader of the Indian independence movement. The event was presided over by S.R. Vishwanath, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Yelahanka constituency.
The celebration was jointly organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yelahanka Nagar-Mandala and the Sangh Parivar. Party leaders noted that MLA S.R. Vishwanath holds the distinction of being the first to name a flyover after Veer Savarkar in South India, specifically at the Mother Dairy Circle in Yelahanka. Furthermore, he has pledged to celebrate the “Veer Savarkar” Jayanti with great fanfare every year.
The event was attended by a large number of BJP leaders, party workers, members of the public, and patriots.
